My name is in lights, well Transworld Business news. I was apart of the team who designed the iPad Sullen Marketing app. Sullen Clothing was the first clothing company to utilize the iPad for marketing and presenting their lines at the tradeshows. This is a native app, not a web app, that is why it is so amazing. Sullen's presence at the Magic trade show in Las Vegas was huge and the iPad surely helped show that they meant business. Now on to improvements and further development.

Shark Mouth Tattoo

Originated in WWI and adopted in WWII by the Flying Tigers, the shark teeth struck fear into the heart of opposing forces and showed that the pilot was a force not to be reckoned with. When I was young my pops and I used to build WWII model airplanes, which sparked my love for the era, for the planes and for the individual designs that these pilots had on their planes. We used to go to air shows in Salinas, CA and at Moffett Field in Mountain View,CA and watch the Aerobatics of the Blue Angels and A-10's. What stuck out heavily in my mind was the classic planes. I would imagine the stories behind these planes. I saw all of the designs painted on the planes as small stories of the history of this machine. This tattoo was done by John Caleb at Goodfellas Tattoo in Orange, CA on Sept.13th 2010.

Always being a bit hesitant to have a tattoo that was showing, I took it from Doc Brown and figured, "What the Hell". People will judge, but my friends and family are all that matter to me, and they will never judge. I am very excited for this tattoo and I love what it represents in my life.

Magic in Las Vegas was an amazing time. I went up with the Sullen crew in the Sullen Van and spent 4 days with the top clothing retailers and buyers in the world. The parties were amazing! Ended up on the 25th floor of the Palms hotel Wed. night, in the bowling alley suite drinking PBR and whisky while bowling overlooking the entire strip. Thursday night we rocked at Vanity at the Hard Rock Hotel with BigB and Holly Madison. Hart&Huntington was amazing, VIP treatment and tons of Grey Goose. That night ended at 6am as we closed out Vanity and walking out to the cleaners in the Hard Rock Hotel. There is something kind of cool when you are walking out of a club in your nice clothes from party and everyone is just waking up.

This peice was from The Norm AWR/MSK, 2 Tone and Retna live art show presented by 7th Letter clothing. I just caught a glimpse of Retna, he has always been kind of a mystery, but we couldn't get him on Sullen TV, just his pieces he contributed to the art show. Enjoy. Can't wait for Magic Winter.

I missed out on my class reunion and Lollapalooza 2010, but it was so worth it. Thank you to the Deftones management and to Sullen for getting this hooked up. This was probably one of the funnest performances I could ever film. The Deftones rocked it and the energy is felt through this video. So Cinco De Mayo is my BDAY and this year is good old 28! I woke up to breakfast made by my girlfriend, watched Avatar and Star Wars: A New Hope, Drank, got a bottle of Sailor Jerry and rockstar, got an amazing receipt with 5/5/10 on the date and the total for the transaction was 1982 (the year i was born, kinda funny), I drank, I had a double double from In & Out for dinner then met up with some friends at a bar in Huntington Beach,CA, drank some more, sang some shirtless karaoke, drank and passed out to the Big Labowski. Needless to say the morning after was a little painful. I got a whole grip of amazing gifts including Super Street Fighter 4, an Art of Avatar book, and many other amazing gifts. I want to thank everyone who wished me a happy birthday, and my girlfriend for dealing with my drunken hyper self. Good times.

"Her Head in the Melting Sky"

I was a bit intoxicated when I did this one. I felt this one out as I went along. I had the idea for the title first and drew her head, but I didn't know how I was going to depict the sky. My recent work has had grey skies in them, probably because of the turning of the season or my mindset right now. Grey skies for me have always symbolized morning, transition, cold and a stale state. Growing up in northern California, there were a good amount of days in the year where the sky was grey. What really stood out was the first day of school, walks on the beach in late afternoon in Monterey,CA and Santa Cruz,CA, and the potential of rain. I used alcohol to get the gradient in that segmented state. I used Prizma markers, Acrylic, Alcohol, Acrylic marker, and Sharpie.

I got in one little fight and my mom got scared

She said 'You're movin' with your auntie and uncle in Bel Air'

I whistled for a cab and when it came near

The license plate said fresh and it had dice in the mirror

If anything I can say this cab is rare

But I thought 'Now forget it' - 'Yo homes to Bel Air'

I pulled up to the house about 7 or 8

And I yelled to the cabbie 'Yo homes smell ya later'

I looked at my kingdom, I was finally there

To sit on my throne as the Prince of Bel Air"

These lyrics have boggled my mind for years. How much was the cab ride from West Philadelphia to Bel-Air, CA?

Now I know the extended version had the airplane ride, BUT!, the networks shortened the title sequence for most of the series' run. For the first few episodes of the show stanzas one to three and stanzas six and seven were used. Beginning with Episode #9 (titled "Someday Your Prince Will Be in Effect (2)"), only the first two and the last two stanzas of the song were used. The change to the theme song allowed for longer episodes to be created. Making the song's lyrics seem like the Fresh Prince took a cab from one side of the USA to the other. This was the seed of the mathematical monster that grew in me for years.

Just to also add in, I HATE MATH!

My idea to solve this beast came one night that my friend Seth and I took a cab ride in San Francisco,CA with a few friends. We just got out of Oktoberfest at Fort Mason. We realized we had to get to the Sunset district. The whole trip was about 8 miles/ 13 KM, and was supposed to take about 20 minutes. This cabby was out for blood that night and got to Seth's apartment in a bout 10 minutes, crazy ass. The trip ended up costing us $25/ 17 Euro. I thought this was a crazy amount to charge for this distance, but we paid reluctantly in our drunken stupor. What really set the fire is that the night ended with channel surfing though "South Park" and "The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air".

I know I have too much time on my hands to think of stupid things like this. But it is important to solve this in my nerdy ways. To prove my level of nerdiness, Han Shot first, and I also was one of the few (very few) that found out how many licks it took to get to the Tootsie-Roll center of a Tootsie-Pop. 738. I got a certificate from Tootsie when I was 10 years-old. It will hang right next to my Diploma and Bachelors Degree when I find it again.

So now think of that epic cab ride. Now read those lyrics up there again. West Philadelphia to Bel-Air,CA! That is 2800 Miles/ 4506 KM; over a day and a half of driving! 42 hours to be exact. Thats also not counting stopping for gas, rest and food. So we will continue this analysis at about 50 hours, to compensate for all of the previous stops factored in, plus Los Angeles' heavy traffic, since he "...pulled up to the house about 7 or 8". We know it is 7 or 8 PM because

the title sequence showed a dusky sky as he hopped out of the cab.

Now back to the math. The part I hate, but the part I need for this important analysis. I divided 2800 miles/ 4506 KM by 8, (8 for the amount of miles equal to $25/ 17 Euro) then multiplied 350 (the result) times 25 ($$$). I know you're lost, but trust me, I GOT THIS!

So to cab ride from West Philadelphia to Bel-Air,CA would have been $8750/ 5924.97 Euro. SUCCESS!

Damn! The Fresh Prince and DJ Jazzy Jeff must have had a killer side business, or The Fresh Queen must have been loaded. Thats not to mention tip and cabby's return to Philadelphia fee. OH! and we will say he got to Bel-Air on a Saturday night just to say that he would have left West Philadelphia at 6pm on Thursday. I'm sure it was an amazing, life changing trip for the two, but it was definitly hard for Freshy Fresh to leave his friends and family in Philadelphia and deal with the smell of the cab driver for 50 hours.

St. Vitus Cathedral

So in the long list of places I will be visiting when I travel the world, I want to visit St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague. I am a big fan of Alphonse Mucha and visiting this stained glass masterpiece would be amazing to me. I became infatuated with the work of Alphonse Mucha in college. His use of watercolor and bold lines influences my work. The titles of his pieces are inspirational also. Some of my favorite pieces (which I plan to get tattooed on me) "Job", "Moon", "Emerald" and "Winter", just to name a few, are simple concepts that developed beautiful work. If you are not familiar with his work, I highly recommend the Mucha Museum www.mucha.cz (which is a stop I want to make as well) and Olga's Mucha Gallery .

This is for Chi! Chi Cheng from the Deftones has been an amazing influence in who I am as a musician and as a person. His music with the Deftones has been a major part of my life and has gotten me through some of the hardest times. It seems like a band or a person shouldn't have that much effect, but music can do that when you are from a small town. Growing up, my friends and I would get rides to anywhere that the Deftones or any band were playing. We were regulars (musicians and fans) at The Gilroy Gaslighter, where the Deftones played. Music was our life, Music is what keeps me going. When I saw this site I had to tell everyone. Please help Chi Cheng and his family get through their newest hardship. Chi Cheng was in a horrific car accident in Santa Clara,CA, not too far from where I grew up, and was in serious condition. He has since been recovering but his insurance has stopped supporting him. His family needs the help from everyone possible. If you got some money to donate and you dig the Deftones, or just feel like helping out, do it. I'm getting a T-Shirt when I get paid next, since times are a bit tight right now. Help Out!

So I am now working with Smart Imagination.

This company is great! We are working on "Tattoo

Stories", it is a book that puts a story to tattoos that would otherwise be thought of as edgy and/or rebellious. As a person who loves my own tattoos and appreciates the art behind this medium, I enjoy helping to expose the human side of this art. The best thing about it is that 40% of the profits, yes 40%, is going to the Starlight Foundation to support kids and families in need of assistance though medical hardships. We are currently working on some promo videos for Chester Bennington's new band, Dead By Sunrise, and we are doing some promotional video for Club Tattoo in Las Vegas. One week of crazyness, Vegas...

So this week is playing out pretty busy. As planned, first was Las Vegas! It was a night of drinking, celebration, gambling and bubbles. Yes, bubbles. A few friends and I went to Vegas to celebrate a friends 21st birthday. We stayed at the Luxor, on the 23rd floor, with two amazing views. As you can see above. One was from outside our door looking over from the side of the giant pyramid, 23 stories up looking down. It was rediculously disorienting, especially after a few drinks. One was our view looking outside our Spa Suite. We can see the vegas strip from the Jaquzzi Spa. The night pretty much was heavy drinking (Yoohoo and Baileys), Gambling and giving some money back to Vegas (She's paid well in the past, but it is due time to pay her back), rocking at the Hard Rock Cafe hotel, and coming back to the Luxor after walking for hours to our Jaquzzi Spa, warm and relaxing, with a little bit of love from Mr. Bubbles. Or in our drunken state, a bottle of Mr. Bubbles. It was tons of fun, super hot (105º), and I can't wait to do it again. Oh and thanks Brian Grover for the Cafe Rio recommendation, amazing burritos in Vegas and the trip to The Original Del Taco, three cheers for the Bun Taco! Stay Tuned for more pics from Vegas...

In the fine print of the Itunes Terms and Conditions there is an article stating the you cannot use iTunes for creating Nuclear Missiles or biological weapons???!! My biggest question is how? then, why? then, really?

If some terrorist in a hole in the ground is building a death-doom missile of hate, I'm sure that he won't be using iTunes Genius features to make a playlist for the Cure Song playing while they shoot the damn thing. I can see it now, some terrorist making this biological weapon getting an update reminder to get the new iTunes. He then DL's, then reads through the t&c and is like, "DAMMIT! I can't hip-hop to Enya while I plan to bomb the world". This is one of those "cover my ass" things that companies use to prevent people from sueing them, or as I like to call it the dumb people. One day McDonalds will have this warning on their fry boxes, the label will be something like this:

"Warning: Contents are Hot, Do Not Use For Biological or Nuclear Weapons, Caution: May Cause Choking, Cuation: May Make you Fat, Warning: May cause Fry Drama, Warning: Golden Color is Just A Color No Cash Value"

So remember, if you plan on killing the world with your Nuclear or Biological weapons, don't groove to fat beats while making those missiles. The more you know.

Mini Buffalo Ranch Chicken Sandwiches with Frank's Red Hot Sauce, nuff' said.

I think Jack in The Box is run by alcoholic stoners that have the best taste buds in the world. Think about some of the greatest Jack in The Box items; 2 Tacos for 99 cents, Ultimate Breakfast Sandwich, Bacon Ultimate Double Cheeseburger, Taquitos, Seasoned Curly Fries etc. etc. It's like these people got together after a hard night of partying, decided to make food that was cheap, flavorful, and can kill a hangover and make their mascot a man in a suit with a giant Jack in the Box clown head. But now, the Holy Grail of fast food has been discovered. Frank's Red Hot sauce is like Jack in The Box's Buttermilk house sauce, you can dip anything in it and you can put it on anything! An now with their powers combined, you have got the food of the Gods. I am so excited to have these burgers with seasoned curly fries, a large Dr. Pepper and Buttermilk House Ranch sauce. I'm probably going to make the "O" face while I eat.

I am working on a whole series of artwork for my friend Alana. She just got a new apartment and she asked me to make it a home. She is a huge tattoo and punk rock fan, so the theme of all the rooms will be Sailor Jerry style tattoo flash. It is fun and a nice exercise to mimic a style but add my own flavor to it. I will be posting up some pictures as I work on it soon. This is a canvas painting of SJ's sailboat. I tea stained the canvas before I started painting on it to give it an old map look.

One of those segments from Sesame St. that I used to get excited to see. Check out how much work was done to make such a simple clip. 24 frames a second. Thats over 2,000 frames, meaning, lots of hand drawn teany little super guys in cups.

Coachella 2009!

Coachella 2009 was amazing! It was a weekend of madness, excitement, exhaustion and tons of fun. The drive out there wasn't too bad. I went with a few friends who worked the water booth with me. We worked from 10am to about 1am all weekend. It was tiring but very rewarding. I got to see everyone I wanted to see and found some bands I never even heard of. I saw Paul McCartney, which was amazing. It was so moving, to hear Beatles songs live by a Beatle was something else. When I heard "A Day In The Life", I got misty, which never happens. I saw the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, which was way fun, The Horrors, Fleet Foxes, the beginning of Peter, Bjorn and John's set, kinda boring, but as I left I found one of the greatest live shows I've seen from a band, it was Murder City Devils, so good! I loved Crystal Castles, Alice is amazing! Goldenvoice really treated us right, we got meals, lodging, water and admission for the whole weekend. On the way home we stopped in "California", or the dinosaurs off the 10 (watch "The Wizard"). I can't wait for next year!

In my pursuit to start drawing humans more, rather than fantasy animal creature thingy's, I just finished this one. I'm happy with it, its loose, took me about an hour to draw. I love her expression, almost like she just walked out of the airport and saw the big city for the first time. It is one of those expressions that I find really hard to portray. Enjoy.

I'm working on this idea, it's been haunting me. It is one of those ideas I am so enthralled with that I wake up in the middle of the night and just keep thinking about. At work, in traffic. I want to say it's great but, it has become a curse. I'm hoping to have an animation or animatic done soon. I'm writing it now.

Los Muertos

I got inspired to do this painting from the frame that it is mounted to. I found this gold colored wooden frame with a red velvet inline border. It has a vintage religious look to it and it used to have some jesus painting in it, but I think it looks way better with this on painting in it. Probably going to hell for that one, haha. It's a shame you can't make out too much of the details but there is lots of tiny gold designs within all of the detailing. I have some people wanting to buy it, but I kind of love it too much.

Here is a recent illustration I did. I want to make a whole series of character from this world. This would be a warrior in a culture of elephant like beings. Using only brute force and their thick skin to protect what keeps their culture progressing. Noble and trustworthy, the Nobiliphanti is the guardian of its people. Inspired by the Hindu Ganesha and Little John from Robin Hood, yes the Disney version.

So I love Disneyland, so much so that me and my girlfriend go a whole bunch. I gets to a point at Disneyland where you get a bit bored, so you start to have fun with pictures. This day, we had our friends Chris (man hands) and Renee with us, so we thought lets play some games on the rides. This picture was one of the only ones that got displayed on the screens at Disneyland. We found out that they monitor and regulate every single picture taken at the park. The pictures "magically disappear" if it is inappropriate or un-safe. In our case, we were playing chess. On Splash Mountain, Nicole sat in front of me and turned around to play chess with me behind her. Since she turned around, it violated the safety rules of the ride so we couldn't get the picture. But I think this Tower of Terror pic is amazing. Checkmate Bitches!
